Elevating Success
Inaugural National Sales Network Early Career Development Summit kicks off in Atlanta.
The National Sales Network (NSN) held its Early Career Development (ECD) Live Summit at the Loews Hotel in Atlanta on April 11-12. This two-day summit and career fair was tailored specifically for young professionals under 35 in the fields of sales and marketing. It featured industry-leading speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities designed to accelerate career growth and development in the competitive sales and marketing landscape.
Kicking off day one of the summit were private interviews and resume sessions followed by three transformative masterclasses and workshops led by industry experts. The topics included Tech Sales Mastery with Kayla Burke, 60 Minutes to LinkedIn Stardom with Andrew M. Melton, and Trust: The Ultimate Game-Changer to Elevate Your Influence and Impact with Dr. Darren Jones, PCC.

Angela Hart, an inside sales representative from Philadelphia, described the masterclasses as “very motivating and rewarding.” She noted that seeing successful people serves as a reminder to stay focused and disciplined, even during challenging times.
For David Richardson, founder and CEO of NSN, fostering a culture of inclusivity and providing a platform for shared experiences and support in the sales industry served as the catalyst for the inaugural summit.
“The inaugural National Sales Network summit arose from a profound need I observed throughout my career—talented professionals of color seeking meaningful connections, mentorship, and growth opportunities in sales,” he said. “This summit represents our commitment to creating a space where diverse sales talent can forge career-changing relationships while accessing the tools and knowledge needed for advancement in today’s competitive landscape.”
The summit was a great way to gain valuable insights for attendee Haita Ndimbalan. “Coming from a non-sales background, NSN summit was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to learn more about sales including roles and career trajectory, keys to success, and leading companies in the sales industry. We also learned more about utilizing emerging tools like AI as a support to work in sales roles. Leaving this summit, I now have a lot more knowledge of this industry and how its mission ties into my current work.”
Day one concluded with the ECD Live “Diamond” Awards Celebration where several awards were presented to individuals who lead with impact, innovation, and integrity. Attendees were encouraged to continue making connections during this cocktail-style event filled with food, music, and dancing.
On day two, participants engaged in networking opportunities and private interviews with several structured events throughout the day, which began with a networking breakfast and headshot session. This was followed by panel discussions featuring industry leaders who shared insights on trends and technology in sales. Topics ranged from the impact of AI on career advancement to the journey of Hope Wiseman, CEO and cofounder of Mary & Main, in becoming the youngest Black woman to own a cannabis dispensary in the U.S. A key session titled Navigating the Unspoken Rules of the Workplace was led by Dr. Ella Washington, who provided practical tools for managing uncomfortable or unfamiliar work environments.
Toward the conclusion of the summit, ECD welcomed special guest speaker Yara Shahidi, a Harvard graduate and award-winning actress, producer, model and activist. In her engaging conversation, Shahidi shared insights on how she developed the discipline to balance her academic pursuits with her professional commitments. While attributing her drive and curiosity to her success, she also acknowledged the village that supported her efforts. Shahidi noted that successful people can reach their objectives because of the “strong teams, families and communities centering them.”
The summit was an inspiring event that ignited meaningful discussions and forged connections among attendees. “Our goal is for participants to leave with not just expanded networks, but concrete strategies for career progression, newfound confidence in their unique value proposition, and connections to organizations ready to embrace their talents. At NSN, we remain steadfastly dedicated to our mission by continuing to invest in young professionals and cultivating our future leaders. This summit is just one manifestation of our belief that when we intentionally nurture diverse talent today, we create a stronger, more innovative sales ecosystem for tomorrow,” said Richardson.
